Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation

QPQ: Done.

Overall: please confirm, 'standing' in hook or ?squatting or ?upright. Please add reference to hook. Needs few more citations. Please confirm QPQ status. Otherwise, very interesting. A few references in German. Whispyhistory (talk) 18:48, 26 February 2018 (UTC)

  • Whispyhistory, on whether a QPQ is needed, as a DYK neophyte Lamilli has a free ride. Moonraker (talk) 20:21, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
Thanks @Moonraker:. I'll wait for citations to be fixed. Whispyhistory (talk) 20:37, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for reviewing! Citations have been added (for for the relevant passages where those were missing).--Lamilli (talk) 18:48, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
Thankyou for amending promptly. One citation needed left...my fault..I noticed later. Also, please clarify the reference the hook originates from...then yes good to go.Whispyhistory (talk) 18:55, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
Don't forget the clarification of ....'please confirm, 'standing' in hook or ?squatting or ?upright'...Whispyhistory (talk) 21:17, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
"Standing" would be fine.--Lamilli (talk) 23:14, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
Thanks, I believe the hook but please show..."The hook fact(s) must be stated in the article, and must be immediately followed by an inline citation to a reliable source." then ok. Whispyhistory (talk) 05:28, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
actually standing still seems odd. squat? Maybe someone can help.Whispyhistory (talk) 05:31, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
The most common, wall-mounted models are not use in a full squat (like Asian toilets) but rather in this half-squat position (referenced as "skiing position"). If I had to choose from the wordings you offered, I'd say "standing" fits best. The most comprehensive source is probably this: https://opus4.kobv.de/opus4-udk/files/8/moellring_bettina.pdf although it's in German. I found this recent English article that actually used "standing": http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-40899902 --Lamilli (talk) 09:38, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
The article is still far too lightly referenced. There is a citation required tag that needs to be replaced with a reference and several whole paragraphs where there is a following quotation and then a reference for the quote but nothing in the preceding text. Is the ref for the quote supposed to refer to the whole section? Please clarify and duplicate references if necessary.
"Pee" is slang. Should it be urinate?
"hygienic" is referenced by sources 1 & 6 "Users benefit from a more hygienic, contactless urination process."
The hook says "standing" but that word does not appear in the article except in relation to men. Words used in relation to women in the article include "upright posture", "light half-squat", and "skier's posture". Perhaps upright posture is the best form of words? The hook just needs to match something in the article that is referenced. Please clarify and identify the reference.

As far as I can tell, all issues have been adressed now.--Lamilli (talk) 18:28, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
@Lamilli: Thank you for still trying. The hook should be in the article with an inline citation. 'Upright' is only in the lead with no in-line citation. How about...
Thank you @Lamilli: for tackling this important and difficult article. It's worth persevering. You are almost there. Philafrenzy (talk) 12:00, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
Ok, let's just use that. I replaced it above.--Lamilli (talk) 21:47, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
@Lamilli:. The hook is in the article. Now show the reference that supports it. Whispyhistory (talk) 23:17, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
Here we go: "...typically uses it by getting into a “skiing position” with their back against the wall."[1] Is that alright?--Lamilli (talk) 23:17, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
Alt2 ...that female urinals available today are typically used in a "skiing" position? Philafrenzy (talk) 09:11, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
  • Alt 2 ok as is in the article and cited. I'll AGF with the non-English references in the article. Thankyou @Philafrenzy: and @Lamilli: Whispyhistory (talk) 09:45, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
  • I have pulled this because the references are incomplete. Notably, one of the hook citations lacks a page number (cite 6 in the article), but all the other references give only the title of the piece and the name of the journal. They should also include the author of the piece and date of publication at minimum. I would recommend that the nominator use the Cite web, Cite news or Cite magazine templates as appropriate to get the references right - you only have to fill in the fields and the template will do all the formatting for you. Pinging Lamilli. Gatoclass (talk) 10:39, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
