- "Today" means a particular day when you want this DYK to feature or just present days? §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 05:46, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- Grammar tells you it's the latter. ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 14:10, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- No it doesnt. This would mean the day it features on main page. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 14:51, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- There is no ambiguity, in my opinion. If it were to be July 31, it would be written as "is being honored" (they just decided to honor him today) or "was honored" (anniversary in which he had already been honored). "Is honored" would not be correct for your context. ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 22:58, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- The trouble with "today" is that it is either yesterday or tomorrow somewhere in the world. And some people, like me, are not always sure what the date is. Presumably the Margariteñas honor Gómez all the time, but more on 31 July, like Germanus of Auxerre. "Is honored every 31 July" is supported by the battle article, but I don't think anyone wants the nomination held to 31 July. ALT1 skips the issue and is shorter, so better. Aymatth2 (talk) 00:55, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
- It seems ambiguous to me too. Assuming Dr. B. does not want to hold it until 31 July, the anniversary, I suggest dropping "today" to give ALT1 below:

- ALT1... that Francisco Esteban Gómez (pictured) is honored in Venezuela as a hero of the Battle of Matasiete?
- for Francisco Esteban Gómez. New article and long enough.
review pending for the second article of Battle of Matasiete. 2nd QPQ also pending from nominators. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 04:36, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
- I have reviewed Battle of Matasiete, which checks out fine in every way: it is sufficiently long, and the date of creation is fine. The hook fact is appropriately referenced in the article, and checks reveal no evidence of copyvio and close para-phrasing. This review is good to go once a further QPQ has been carried out per H4. - A go signal for ALT1. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 12:28, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
