Ghadeer Kamal-Mreeh
edit... that Gadeer Mreeh is the first Druze woman to serve as a member of the Israeli Knesset?Source: "Gadeer Mreeh of the Blue and White party will become the first woman of Druze ethnicity to become a Member of Knesset after exit polls showed her party's success in the 2019 elections". (The Jerusalem Post)
Created by E.M.Gregory (talk), Number 57 (talk), and Yoninah (talk). Nominated by Yoninah (talk) at 18:11, 16 April 2019 (UTC).
- Thanks...I enjoyed reading this and learnt many new words (well linked). New enough, no copy issues, QPQ done, long enough. Article and source says she is set to become, hook says she is...please clarify if she did become a Member of Knesset as she was set to be or is she still "set to be"? OR...alter hook accordingly. - Thanks for the review. The way it works in Israeli politics is that after the election, the largest party is asked to form a government, and after that's accomplished, the new Knesset will be seated. If a government isn't formed, we're back to new elections. You can't say she was elected to the Knesset, because voters vote for factions, not for individual members. I see the problem with the hook. Would it make sense to say:
- ALT1: ... that newly-elected parliamentarian Gadeer Mreeh will be the first Druze woman to serve as a member of the Israeli Knesset? Yoninah (talk) 19:55, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
- to ALT1...probably better. Whispyhistory (talk) 07:01, 17 April 2019 (UTC)
