Graham Chapman

edit
  • ... that Graham Chapman gave up a career as a doctor to pursue one in comedy?

Improved to Good Article status by Ritchie333 (talk). Nominated by Casliber (talk) at 21:01, 14 June 2015 (UTC).

  • Right, right, stop that, stop that ... this started off as a perfectly good DYK nomination, but it's not silly enough. So, how about....
  • I'm sorry, but I don't care if the source is the Queen of England -- ALT1 defies common sense. There are lots of great potential hooks here, so let's all contribute our favorites, then vote.
ALT4 ... that Terry Jones called Graham Chapman's death, just before the 20th anniversary of the television debut of Monty Python's Flying Circus, "the worst case of party-pooping in all history"?
(Not necessarily my favorite, but a start after a quick look over the article. Great work, Ritchie! Also, I think an image would be a good idea. ) EEng (talk) 06:04, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
  • Hey, isn't this still Wiki LGBTXYZ month? If so we should really try to use the gay angle in the hook. EEng (talk) 23:35, 16 June 2015 (UTC) Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  • ALT5 ... that Graham Chapman did not mind when he was filmed fully nude in front of a crowd, but the female Muslim extras did? EEng (talk) 05:52, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
  • ALT6 ... that
  • ALT7 ... that
  • ALT8 ... that
  • ALT9 ... that
Passing, with AGF to book sources for main hook, and ALTs 2-5. The article has indeed been promoted to GA status (on 13 June). Mjroots (talk) 15:14, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
