- Interesting life, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. Perfect hook! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:58, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this, but the hook fact is not worded this clearly in the article. The sentence about arriving in Liverpool and walking to London doesn't give any reason for why he did that. Being penniless is mentioned in a later context. Yoninah (talk) 23:43, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
- Fixed, ref 2 BMJ states "arrived penniless" and ref 1 ODNB states "walked to London". Philafrenzy (talk) 08:19, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Philafrenzy: thanks. Since the BMJ ref doesn't say anything about his arriving penniless, please confirm that that's in the Oxford Biography source? Also, it's interesting that the BMJ states he worked his way to England–meaning he worked aboard the ship? That would be good to add to the article. Yoninah (talk) 10:32, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
- Added that he worked his passage. It is the BMJ that say "He seldom spoke of his early days in England, when he arrived penniless and without friends or relatives." Oxford say "Remarkably for someone who had arrived penniless in the UK from India just over a decade before". Philafrenzy (talk) 11:05, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
