Hezekiah Usher
edit- ... that Hezekiah Usher was the first bookseller in the thirteen colonies?

- New enough, long enough, well cited (including the hook) and with an interesting hook. Good to go! Yakikaki (talk) 18:25, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
- [edit conflict] This is a very nice article that meets the criteria as far as I can see. One small point, as I've commented on the talk page: it should probably rely more heavily on recent sources, which seem to exercise greater caution about the "first" claim. For instance, A History of Book Publishing in America (Cambridge UP, 2000, also floating around in a U of North Carolina edition) doesn't seem to press the claim that Usher was the first bookseller, but since it's about publishing, not retail, it simply raises the question. Maybe a change to "first known", as here, would do it? "First known" usually means "first one we can put a name to, though others may have existed". What do you think, Doug?
