ALT1: ... that Highgate tube station had platforms (one of them pictured) built to accommodate nine-car trains on the Northern line that never used them?
ALT2: ... that platforms built for the Northern line at Highgate tube station (pictured) were never used, despite the station opening in 1941?

As amended the original proposed hook is wrong. The underground platforms were used and are in use, just not by nine-car trains. The separate platforms on the surface are the ones that were never used by London Underground trains. DavidCane (talk) 12:34, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for clarifying that. I put the original hook back how it was, but I don't find the wording clear. I think ALT1 makes the situation much clearer. Gronk Oz (talk) 14:39, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
