House Gospel Choir
- ... that House Gospel Choir's very first gig was at Glastonbury? (Source:Resident Advisor)
- ALT1:
... that Natalie Maddix was inspired to create House Gospel Choir after touring in South Africa?(Source: Evening Standard) - ALT2: ... that when House Gospel Choir accompanied Steven Bartlett in Diary of a CEO, a reviewer said it was "the most bonkers night I have ever spent at the theatre"? - It appears that citations have not been provided for the hooks? FunkMonk (talk) 09:39, 24 August 2023 (UTC)

- Alright, the DYK template includes space for citations after each hook, so I was thinking it was mandatory, as citations can be seen after individual hooks in other nominations. I'll have a further look. FunkMonk (talk) 09:57, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
- @FunkMonk: So...are you still reviewing this DYK nomination? Or should we find another reviewer? Cielquiparle (talk) 04:33, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
- I'll continue, with the caveat that I have no experience reviewing DYKs. The article has been expanded the required amount in the given time, has enough characters, the sourcing and hooks look good, though it seems to me alt 1 is a bit of an over-interpretation of what the source says. To quote the relevant part: "But it was when out in South Africa, promoting single 'Selfish Skies', which she had created with producer Atjazz, that Maddix found herself in Johannesburg’s House 22 enjoying “the best night I’d had in a long time”. “Everyone was singing along and it sounded so sweet. It was all house music and it felt so uplifting. I just thought, I want to do this more when I get back home.” It took her three years to “build up the courage” to create an Instagram post, asking whether followers might be interested in joining a house choir – a group of singers who would collaborate on gospel versions of house tracks." It looks like a bit of a leap to say she was inspired to form this particular group, when it seems quite a bit more vague than that (the experience in South Africa made her want to do it more, but what it directly led to was creating an Instagram post). But we might want a second opinion on this. FunkMonk (talk) 17:33, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
- @FunkMonk: I'm OK with striking ALT1 based on your feedback (and have struck the hook above so there's no confusion down the line). If you are now approving this, could you please confirm with the {{subst:DYKtick}} symbol? Cielquiparle (talk) 02:47, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
