( Article history links: )
- ... that Lieutenant-Colonel Johannes Wilhelm Colenbrander (pictured) and two others died on camera during the filming of the 1918 war movie Symbol of Sacrifice? Source: "Colenbrander was employed by the film to advise on the management of the African extras and agrred to take a small role as Lord Chelmsford. Tragically, it was to be his last adventure; on 10 February 1918 he was filming a scene where Chelmsford and his staff crossed the White Mfolozi river prior to the battle of Ulundi when his horse stumbled in the strong current and he was swept away and drowned – all before the lens of the camera." from: Knight, Ian (16 October 2008). Companion to the Anglo-Zulu War. Pen and Sword. pp. 134–135. ISBN 978-1-4738-1331-1. "Colenbrander, playing Chelmsford, was drowned with two others while filming a scene at the Klip River" from: Beckett, Ian F. W. (2019). Rorke's Drift and Isandlwana. Oxford University Press. pp. 134–135. ISBN 978-0-19-879412-7.

- hook has been verified. Articles are long enough, new enough, cited to reliable sources, and earwigs suggests no copyvio. QPQs have been conducted. Hook is interesting. Image is appropriately licensed, but pretty poor quality and I'd suggest promoting without, though discretion could be used. Good to go either way. Eddie891 Talk Work 13:54, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
