Katihar Medical College
edit... that Katihar Medical College is the only private medical college of Bihar to have a Non Resident Indian quota- ALT1:
... that the only private medical college of Bihar to have a Non Resident Indian quota is Katihar Medical College

- Comment: This is my second DYK nomination. The hooks are cited by this source, currently present in the article as 10th reference. Alternate hook suggestions are welcome.

- Newly created and long enough. Hook is cited; article is well-referenced. QPQ not needed as it is only editors second nomination. Good to go. Freikorp (talk) 06:09, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
- The article needs a light copyedit for English grammar (adding "A" or "The" to the beginning of sentences). Also, both hooks repeat the words "medical college"; is there any way to fix this? Yoninah (talk) 20:31, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
- I've given a copyedit, i'll let the nominator reword the hook. Freikorp (talk) 06:06, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
- ALT2: ... that Katihar Medical College is the only private college of Bihar to have a Non-Resident Indian quota?
- ALT3:
... that the only private college of Bihar to have a Non-Resident Indian quota is Katihar Medical College? - @Yoninah: changed the hooks, I hope it's okay now. Any other improvement suggestions are welcome. Pratyush (talk) 06:30, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you. Next time, please add your new hooks to the bottom of the thread and strike through the old ones, so we can watch the progress of this review. I did that for you, renumbering your changes as ALT2 and ALT3. I also copyedited the article some more and added conversion templates to the figures. I added clarification tags to the acronyms you're using; please spell out what you're talking about. I'm wondering now if the hook is so "hooky". If it was the only private college in India to have a non-resident Indian quota, that would be notable. What do you think about this idea:
- ALT4: ... that the 55-acre (22 ha) Katihar Medical College campus includes a 590-bed general hospital and a branch of the State Bank of India? Yoninah (talk) 18:31, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
- Acronyms have been expanded, I kept MBBS in bracket as it is the word most often used in India. All medical undergraduate degrees are called MBBS here and I think it might be confusing to people if it is not kept. I proposed the hook as the news article from where it is cited presented it in a way which made me think it is "hooky" (personal opinion). But you clearly have more experience with DYK and know more about what is "hooky" and what is not. ALT4 is also good, I have no favourites here, any of the hooks may be chosen. Thanks to you and Freikorp for the copyedits. Any other suggestions are welcome. Pratyush (talk) 07:23, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- @PratyushSinha101: Thank you for your time and your patience. All the citation tags have been addressed. When writing hooks, it's important to remember that Wikipedia reaches a worldwide audience. What's interesting in India may not be interesting in Australia. It may very well be that the prep promoter will choose ALT2 (I struck ALT3 in the meantime, as ALT2 is written better), but if you're also okay with ALT4, let's call on another reviewer to approve it. @Freikorp:? Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 23:21, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
