Kim A. Wagner
- ... that expert on thuggee, Kim A. Wagner, has India in his blood?

- Article new enough and long enough. Hook is interesting. But, the India in his blood part seems to be misleading a bit, as the source seems to not be literal but the hook phrases it like it is. It's fine to bend things a little to make something funnier at DYK, but this seems more outright misleading. Is it possible to rephrase it or come up with another hook? Also, the QPQ was done by one of the article contributors, but not by the nominator. Kingsif (talk) 01:50, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for reviewing @Kingsif:. The Qpq is fine and does not need to be done by the nominator. Some alternative hooks:
- ALT1:... that in 2014, the skull of an Indian soldier, who was executed following the Indian Rebellion of 1857, was found in a pub in Kent and given to Kim A. Wagner?
- ALT2:... that Kim A. Wagner pieced a story of an Indian sepoy who was executed following the Indian Rebellion of 1857, by studying the letters of the friends and relatives of the sepoy's victims?
- ALT3:... that Kim A. Wagner, a Danish author of books on India, is named after Rudyard Kipling's novel Kim? Whispyhistory (talk) 08:41, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- Great! Just wanted to make sure it wasn't a stolen QPQ; all the alts look great, and are interesting. I may advise against Alt2 on the fact that it kind of wants some knowledge of what a 'sepoy' is. Kingsif (talk) 13:41, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks @Kingsif:...linked sepoy incase. Whispyhistory (talk) 14:36, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- The skull hooks are good but I would dispute that there is anything wrong with the original either. Obviously a country can't be literally be in someone's blood. It's pithy and the thuggee will surely lead to clicks, though possibly not of Wagner. It would make a good quirky one if the skull isn't used. Philafrenzy (talk) 21:33, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
