Ladislaus I of Hungary
edit... that Ladislaus I of Hungary (pictured), who was canonized in 1192, had admitted that he could not "promote the cause of earthly dignities without committing grave sins" in his letter to the Abbot of Monte Cassino?
ALT1:... that Ladislaus I of Hungary (pictured) grew up in Poland and almost became "a Pole in his ways and life", according to Gallus Anonymus?ALT2:... that Ladislaus I of Hungary (pictured) established the Bishopric of Zagreb?- Reviewed: Carolina Wren
Improved to Good Article status by Borsoka (talk). Self nominated at 04:15, 1 February 2015 (UTC). This is good. I like ALT1 Shhhhwwww!! (talk) 09:39, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
- @Shhhhwwww: You should provide a review that explicitly confirms that the five main DYK criteria have been covered. Further information can be found at DYK Reviewing guide. Yoninah (talk) 21:13, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
- This looks somewhat stale, so I take the freedom to offer a new review. The article has recently been promoted to GA, is long enough, and has ample references. The picture is perfectly suited for display in 100x100, and is published under a suitable license. The nominator did a QPQ review. The original hook occurs in the article, and is directly referenced. ALT1 has a different quote in the article, I changed that. ALT2 is also fine. All sources are offline, so I have to agf on plagiarism. --Pgallert (talk) 07:13, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
- The only remaining issues are these: --Pgallert (talk) 07:13, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
- I find the original hook a bit wordy, and I'm not sure it is the most spectacular one. It is over 200 characters, though, and would have to be shortened if it was to be used. Perhaps without the canonized subclause?
- The picture is not one of Ladislaus but that of a reliquary in Győr cathedral. Thus, the "(pictured)" in the hook is inexact. It would be much better to have something like (Győr reliquary pictured), but that statement is not referenced in the article. Suggestions? Can a reference be found for where this reliquary is situated?
::::* ALT4:... that Ladislaus I of Hungary (his reliquary pictured), who was canonized in 1192, had admitted that he could not "promote the cause of earthly dignities without committing grave sins" in a letter?

- Pgallert, thank you for the suggestion: ALT4 was modified. Borsoka (talk) 12:21, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
