Lafayette Welcoming Parade of 1824 (Philadelphia)

  • Article is new enough and long enough. I have some difficulty finding Monroe's statement in the source as well as the "last surviving" part. Likewise, the "September 26" date is not indicated, only "September". Much of the lead is also not sourced ("sixteen months" I can't find anywhere). Some sources are not accessible, not that that would make a difference. Other than this sourcing issue all OK on inline citations. Didn't see any plagiarism or copyvio there. Hook is interesting, short enough and sourced although I am not sure if the exact number is in the source that I can read. Interesting topic I have to say. QPQ is done, short but that's a matter of personal taste as long as all key criteria are met. In short: Ready to go once these minor sourcing issues are resolved.Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 15:38, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
No sources in lede per WP:CITELEAD. LavaBaron (talk) 18:02, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
@LavaBaron: Sorry for being imprecise: The problem with the lead is that some statements (the duration of the trip) mentioned there are not backed up elsewhere in the article, not the lack of citations per se.Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 18:51, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for clarification, Jo-Jo Eumerus. I've fixed this now. LavaBaron (talk) 19:52, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
That seems fine for me. Only things missing are the other minor sourcing issues - or a pointer to where in the source the information is.Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 20:00, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
What other issues? I can't make offline sources online and I'm pretty sure that's not a requirement of DYK. LavaBaron (talk) 20:32, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
The issues I have is that a) http://www.readex.com/readex-report/lafayettes-return-early-american-media-event does not say anything about Lafayette being the last surviving general unless I missed something and b) the September 26 date does not appear in either source.Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 20:35, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
Jo-Jo Eumerus - my apologies, I misunderstood and thanks for clarifying. I've generally updated the article, including with these sources. Note that, in doing so, I notice a typo, it should have read 27SEP. (Note the source says the parade was 28SEP and "the previous day ..." which I feel is simple enough math as to not rise to the level of OR). Thanks again for your very thorough review. Issue seems to be addressed, so checking this off. Basic math is exempt from WP:OR rules - see WP:CALC.Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 20:26, 28 April 2016 (UTC)
