Linguistic Society of America
edit- ... that in 1997 the Linguistic Society of America passed a resolution supporting the Oakland Unified School District board's decision to teach some students using African American Vernacular English?
- ALT1:... that in 1997 the Linguistic Society of America supported the Oakland School Board's decision to teach using African American English?
- ALT2:... that of the 75 foundational members of the Linguistic Society of America 31 were women?
- ALT3:... that the Linguistic Society of America, along with other professional organizations, co-signed an amicus curiae brief in Fisher v. University of Texas?
- Comment: The original hook is right at the 200 character limit at 197 characters. ALT1 is a shorter (though slightly less precise) version. I think it might be interesting considering it's Black History Month in the US to have the first hooks.
