- Dan arndt (talk) 23:45, 21 January 2017 (UTC) - though I'm not certain how the DYK was started before the article was created
- Article is newly created (22 January)
- Article is long enough (1,800 characters)
- Article is free of copyright violations
- A couple of the statements in the article need citations.
- All three hooks are short enough.
ALT2 preferred. They could all be trimmed slightly. - Hooks are accurate & properly cited.
- @Dan arndt: The nomination was submitted shortly after the article was created, I guess there might be some time zone issues affecting how this is displayed. I added references for the unsourced statements in the article. I have struck the first hook and ALT1. I could suggest a few more hooks below that are progressively shorter. - ALT3:... that injury stopped Lorne Crerar from gaining a full international cap as a player, but 20 years later he took part in two Rugby World Cups as a judicial officer? Source: The Herald ([7]) The Scotsman ([8])
ALT4:... that after injury, Lorne Crerar didn't get a full international cap as a player but did later take part in two Rugby World Cups as a judicial officer?Source: The Herald ([9]) The Scotsman ([10])ALT5:... that after injury, Lorne Crerar didn't get a full international cap as a player but took part in two Rugby World Cups as a judicial officer?Source: The Herald ([11]) The Scotsman ([12])
I would go with ALT3 as it is the one that is mostly likely to appeal to a broader audience. Thanks for addressing the citation issues. Dan arndt (talk) 02:43, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks, I have struck the other suggested hooks. Drchriswilliams (talk) 11:24, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
