- Obviously I don't think that this is the actual cause, but it makes for a good hook. Open to rewording to better convey that. --Rschen7754 03:29, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
Since I'm suggesting a hook I won't review this, but what about a wording that attributes the ghost claim:
ALT1: ... that residents near Higginson Highway believe that a ghost named "Sheila" is the cause of the highway's fatal accidents?
Or something along those lines? - Aoidh (talk) 18:51, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
- Rschen7754:
- general: article is new enough and long enough.
- policy: article is sourced and neutral. earwig shows nothing of concern.
- qpq: not required.
- hooks: both hooks are under 200 characters, interesting, accurate enough, cited, and neutral. for alt1, i think "is the cause of the highway's fatal accidents" could be replaced with "causes fatal accidents on the highway" to avoid suggesting that the ghost is believed to cause all the fatal accidents on the highway (which may be true, but i don't recall it being mentioned in the cited sources). in any case, i'll approve the current version, and courtesy ping Aoidh.
- points outside of the dyk criteria:
- points where my interpretation of google maps appears to conflict with the description in the article:
- i think the order, from northeast to southwest, of the suburbs passed at the start are surprise farm, alexander park, ashley, and westmead. was the list in the article not intended to be in order?
- it looks like the road first travels southwest before travelling south, rather than the other way around.
- the road appears to bend southward in savannah park, not at mawelewele.
- street view appears to show the m1 passing under the m20, not over it.
- i cannot figure out where google maps mentions that henry pennington road was previously called "Richmond Road".
- chatsworth is linked twice in the article body, and neither instance occurs at the first mention of the township in the body.
- the cited rising sun chatsworth source does not appear to state that higginson "forcibly relocated Indian people from white-only areas of Durban to Chatsworth", though it does describe chatsworth as "a township for displaced members of the Indian community", and states that higginson was a head of the durban city co-operation housing committee.
- i believe "The Curse of Highway Sheila" should be in italics if it is the title of a film.
