IOUTemplate:Did you know nominations/2011 NextEra Energy Resources 250 - Comment: The main hook is potentially problematic, but also interesting as this scandal has picked up steam. The scandal article is also DYK eligible (new and way above 1500 characters). Of course, it's a developing story, which makes it a potential issue as things move forward. There's now a suggestion that it's related to a state senator aso opposed to this mayor. However, for your consideration, I present alt hooks:

- ALT1: ... that Mark Sokolich, the mayor of Fort Lee, New Jersey, played college basketball for Rutgers University?
- ALT2: ... that the father and mother of Mark Sokolich, mayor of Fort Lee, New Jersey, died when he was 12 and 13 years old, respectively?

- Hi Muboshgu, I am looking at the hooks, and think that while the first one is the biggest story, it is potentially controversial, presently unproven, and quite frankly, most Americans probably do know that. I almost wonder whether a better hook would be that he attended Seton Hall law school at the same time as Christie. Both alternate hooks look OK as well. Go Phightins! 22:36, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
- Also, you still need a QPQ. Go Phightins! 22:37, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, didn't see your response until now. Just saw Sokolich's name in the news and thought to myself "Huh, any progress on the DYK?" I can agree that the primary hook should probably not be used, especially as so much is unknown. Things have moved in the last two weeks. I'll perform QPQ today. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:24, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
- All right then, how about #2 then? Go Phightins! 23:11, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
