Merit (Buddhism)
edit... that in Buddhism, doing good deeds, called merit-making, is seen as a form of saving for the future?Source: "Also, if doctrine and practice identify merit making with 'uneconomical' depletion of one's resources, the practitioner is allowed to look on this as a form of saving, on the assumption of transmigration." ([1])- ALT0a ... that in Buddhism, the doing of good deeds, known as merit-making, is seen as a form of saving for the future?
- ALT1:... that Buddhist teachings on doing good deeds, called merit-making, stimulated the development of print technology in China? Source: "Indeed, it is likely that Buddhist practices of producing texts for merit were a central impetus in the development of print technology in China." ([2]; Source: "Once we recognize that the emergence of printing was a protracted development, then the connection of Buddhism and the birth of the printed book is clear.(...) And so goes the litany of Chinese 'firsts' in the history of printing, almost all of which are related directly to Buddhism" ([3])
- Reviewed: I have not reviewed other articles yet, this is only my second nomination.

- This is a newly promoted GA and is new enough and long enough. I have rewritten the original hook to ALT0a; it is interesting and has an inline citation. The ALT1 hook is also acceptable. The article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 08:51, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
