Michael Dokeianos

edit
  • ... that when the Byzantine general Michael Dokeianos was taken prisoner by the Pechenegs and brought before their leader, he managed to grab a sword and hack the leader's arm off before being killed?

  • This article is a newly promoted GA. It is long enough and nominated in the correct time frame. The original hook is more interesting, the hook facts have an inline citation and the article is neutral. The sources were not available to me so I was unable to check for copyvios.
