Michel Abreu
edit- ... that Michel Abreu won the Cuban National Series Most Valuable Player Award in 2002?
- ALT1 ... that Cuban baseball player Michel Abreu had a US$425,000 signing bonus voided when it was discovered that he lied about his age?

- . Almost everything I can check checks out, vis-a-vis the article and certainly the original hook. I can't check the subscription-only ref for the hook, so it is accepted on good faith. The alt has an issue -- it is misleading, as the lie was not the main reason the team sought to void his contract. Furthermore, the ref just discusses the team starting the process ("began the process of voiding the deal") of voiding the contract, but does not report that it was voided -- this should be fixed in the article, and renders the hook inaccurate. So I would go with the original hook rather than the Alt, IMHO -- others are welcome to opine and disagree.--Epeefleche (talk) 23:40, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
