edit

5x expanded by Dharmadhyaksha (talk). Self-nominated at 11:09, 17 May 2016 (UTC).

  • Allowing for removal of the previous copyvio the length and date of the expansion is fine. Citations check out. QPQ done. Has appeared at ITN but only in recent deaths so no problem there. GTG I think - Basement12 (T.C) 10:31, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
Either link the word "gold" to Gold medal, or add the word medal after gold.Moriori (talk) 03:57, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

  • Re-ticking just for clarity - Basement12 (T.C) 14:25, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
  • The source for the hook fact says he was the first athletics gold medallist, not the "first athlete". Yoninah (talk) 22:53, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: Well, in many parts of the world (in the Commonwealth especially) someone who competes in athletics is simply known as an athlete. But to further clarify for our North American friends "track and field athlete" could be used in the hook wording - Basement12 (T.C) 00:04, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
  • Great, thanks. Restoring tick per your review. Yoninah (talk) 00:14, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
