- ... that in Spain it is considered lucky to eat 12 grapes while wearing red underwear received as a gift (pictured) at midnight on New Year's Eve? Source: https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2012/12/26/168092673/green-grapes-and-red-underwear-a-spanish-new-years-eve "If scoffing grapes at midnight isn't strange enough, convention says you must do so while wearing red ropa interior, or underwear — a bra, a sock, a garter, whatever. And — stranger yet — the undergarment should be given to you by someone else."

- Comment: Request a special occasion slot for New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. I'm hoping to develop more ALTs (and possibly an image), but would like to get at least one approved so that this can get slotted, and I'll update alts/image as the article develops.

- Recently moved to mainspace, long enough to qualify for DYK, but certainly room for expansion, no copyvio concerns. Brilliant hook, sourced to NPR as stated, which I'd like to try myself except I don't believe I've got any red underwear to hand. Ah well, I'll put it on the Christmas list. Please put in the New Year slot as appropriate. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:25, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
