Oshkosh Alpha
edit- ... that ... the Oshkosh Alpha's contract with US Marine Corp Systems Command was discontinued in less than three months after it was publicly announced on February 28, 2007?
ALT1:... that ... the Oshkosh Alpha's ShieldAll armor was made back in 2001 using research conducted for NASCAR?

- @Ominae: New article, long enough, sourced, hook checks out, no copyvios. 3rd DYK nom, so no QPQ needed. Propose:
- ALT2: ... that Oshkosh Alpha's ShieldAll armor incorporates research conducted for NASCAR after Dale Earnhardt's death? --Usernameunique (talk) 14:05, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
- Need another reviewer to give ALT2 a tick. --Usernameunique (talk) 22:19, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Usernameunique: I was looking to promote this nomination, and I guess I could do so with ALT0, but ALT2 is unsatisfactory because part of the hook is not supported by the article. Where did the bit about Dale Earnhardt come from? Can you add a sentence to the article and cite an appropriate source? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:17, 2 September 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for catching that Cwmhiraeth. Looks like I got the hook from the source, but never put the fact in the article. It's now corrected. The line in the WP article is: "The Alpha's ShieldAll armored body incorporates research conducted after the death of Dale Earnhardt, when NASCAR was looking to develop shock-absorbing technology for its racetrack barrier walls." --Usernameunique (talk) 16:26, 2 September 2017 (UTC)
- Need another reviewer to give ALT2 a tick. --Usernameunique (talk) 22:19, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks. Replacing tick for ALT2. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 17:45, 2 September 2017 (UTC)
