Paul Bateson
edit... that Paul Bateson, convicted of murder 40 years ago today, was the X-ray technician in The Exorcist's cerebral angiogram scene?Source: "But there's another story connected to The Exorcist that has remained largely overlooked. It's the story of the radiology technician in the film, Paul Bateson, Esquire; October 18, 2018. Mr. Bateson, an X‐ray technician at New York University Medical Center, was convicted last March 5 of the murder of Mr. Verrill." The New York Times; April 4, 1979- ALT1:
... that Paul Bateson's purported telephone call to Village Voice reporter Arthur Bell led to his murder conviction 40 years ago today?Source: "A Talk on the Wild Side" The Village Voice; October 3, 1977. "But a judge ... allowed the confession—along with Bell's article—to be used in court", Esquire, cited and linked above.

- Comment: As the hooks suggest I would like this to run on March 5, the 40th anniversary of Bateson's murder conviction

- New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. First hook is interesting, verified and cited inline. (Striking the second hook, as "purported" kind of deflates it.) Only image in article is fair use. QPQ done. Good to go. Yoninah (talk) 17:30, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Daniel Case: I'd like to suggest tweaking the hook to identify him as a real-life technician, as the hook doesn't make that clear:
- ALT0a: ... that real-life X-ray technician Paul Bateson, convicted of murder 40 years ago today, played the X-ray technician in The Exorcist's cerebral angiogram scene? Yoninah (talk) 17:35, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Go ahead; we're well within the limit. Daniel Case (talk) 18:55, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
