Penelope Endersby
edit... that Penelope Endersby is the first female Chief Executive of the Met Office?Source: https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/news/releases/2018/new-appointment
Created/expanded by Jesswade88 (talk) and Qwfp (talk). Nominated by Yorkshiresky (talk) at 19:46, 19 October 2018 (UTC).
- New enough, (barely) long enough, and well sourced. The only copying found by Earwig involved names of organizations, non-problematic. The source to the hook quote is primary but it appears reliable enough and usable for the non-disputed factual claims it is used to source. The hook is within rules and interesting enough. The link to "C4ISR" needs disambiguation. More seriously, the QPQ review is missing. The nominator already has 14 DYK nominations, and the rules don't appear to except nominators of other editors' articles from the QPQ requirement. So once a QPQ is done this will be ready to go.—David Eppstein (talk) 00:32, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

- Returned from prep per discussion at Prep 4: Who?. A new hook has been proposed:
- ALT1: ... that Penelope Endersby, a researcher in armour and explosives, an expert on electric and intelligent armour, will become the first female Chief Executive of the Met Office in December 2018? The Rambling Man (talk) 15:39, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- New reviewer needed to check hook accuracy, grammar, and length. Yoninah (talk) 13:46, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
- Hook is within length and accurate. I find the grammar awkard. The two clauses after the subject name just don't flow as written. Fixing with ALT1a.
- ALT1a: ... that armour and explosives researcher Penelope Endersby, an expert on electric and intelligent armour, will become the first female Chief Executive of the Met Office in December 2018?
- Now with the number of nominations pending, the hook will likely not run this month and would not be accurate in December. The source doesn't say exactly when she will take over, just "early in December". ALT1b will cover running in December (and since we don't know exactly when, I would sidestep the issue by not running this before Dec 10.)
- ALT1b: ... that armour and explosives researcher Penelope Endersby, an expert on electric and intelligent armour, became the first female Chief Executive of the Met Office in December 2018?
- Good to go with ALT1a or ALT1b MB 03:30, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
- She takes up the post on 5th December, so suggest if posted that day would be best.yorkshiresky (talk) 17:14, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
