Petrodollar recycling
edit... that a prominent example of petrodollar recycling was the record-setting US$250,000,000 purchase of a Cézanne painting (pictured) by the Royal Family of Qatar?- ALT1:... that a prominent example of petrodollar recycling was the 90% purchase of New York's Chrysler Building (pictured) by the Abu Dhabi Investment Council?
- Reviewed: WP:QPQ isn't required for my second DYK nomination.
- Comment: Hooks ALT0 & ALT1 appear in the article's Gallery section, each with a suitable image & citation. The topic's importance for the global economy brings the article thousands of page views every month.

- Review Earwig copy violation detector is clear. Free of close paraphrasing. Long enough. Newly promoted to WP:GA. Timely nominated The fact of the purchases in both hook and ALT1 is reliably sourced. However, the express link (mention) to "petrodollar recycling" is not used in haec verba in the source, although I would think it a reasonable inference given the identity of the purchasers, the amounts involved, and the circumstances of each acquisition. Nominator has less than 5 WP:DYKs so no QPQ required. Both pictures are used in the articles, are available for use, striking, and clear at 100 pix. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 20:44, 29 December 2016 (UTC)
- Review I added a source (and managed to screw up the way the caption on the Chrysler Building is displayed) which uses the words "Petrodollar recycling" for ALT1. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 21:48, 29 December 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks, good catch. I've improved the citations further. —Patrug (talk) 22:14, 29 December 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for fixing up my formatting error. We still don't have a source that I see which says "petrodollar recycling" for the painting. So I would expect adversity on that. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 22:18, 29 December 2016 (UTC)
