Pets of Imran Khan
edit... that the news of pets of Imran Khan getting their own Wikipedia article was printed in various newspapers? The news story about prime minister-in-waiting Imran Khan’s pets getting a Wikipedia page published in different newspapers started rumour mills full steam about his personal life.- ALT1
:... that Imran Khan (pictured), Pakistan's prime minister, owns five dogs who live at his residence in Bani Gala? My Motu (pet dog) is in Bani Gala and I have four more dogs.- ALT3:
... that allegedly Imran Khan (pictured), Pakistan's prime minister, divorced his second wife Reham Khan because of a row over his pet dogs? Source:the marriage disintegrated “amid furious rows over everything from his friends to her attempts to ban his dogs from the bedroom.”

- I would prefer something along the lines of the second blurb. The third one is an allegation, while the first one is a news item on the subject itself. Mar4d (talk) 10:33, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
- I think I can agree with you.. for the same reason I put forward a couple of options to go with. Saqib (talk) 17:39, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
- Comment — The first one is too meta for my taste; the other two are great hooks, though. I have improved them a little bit by making them compliant with MOS:JOBTITLES; feel free to revert. Also, from the looks of it, the sources are at least semi-reliable and there are no plagiarism, copyvio or other concerns with this one.

- Side note — I also added a line about Reham Khan being Imran Khan's second spouse, feel free to revert that too.

- @Saqib, SshibumXZ, and Mandarax: On the contrary, I actually like the first hook as interesting and quirky. Meta hooks aren't actually disallowed and if anything can lead to fun hooks. I don't like ALT1 as being bland or ordinary (owning pets is common, even among world leaders), and ALT3 (ALT2?) is a potential BLP violation. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:52, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: I guess you're. Also, I have changed the wording a btt; feel free to revert.
Regards, SshibumXZ (Talk) (Contributions). 04:19, 28 August 2018 (UTC) - @Saqib: sorry, I almost forgot about this. However, there still is one problem with this DYK nomination, any picture used in a hook has to be also used in some way in the parent article, can you be so kind as to add the picture you're using here to the article? Also, Narutolovehinata5, will you be reviewing this, or should I?
- Someone changed the photo. I reverted. Saqib (talk) 15:01, 30 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Saqib: I meant that the pic identifying Imran Khan in the main hook should be used in the article, pets of Imran Khan.
Regards, SshibumXZ (Talk) (Contributions). 23:27, 30 August 2018 (UTC)- @Saqib: can you be so kind as to either add the picture accompanying the main hook to pets of Imran Khan, or remove the picture from the hook? Just ping after you're done and I will proceed with the review.

QPQ: - No need.
Overall:
Regards, SshibumXZ (talk · contribs). 07:16, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
- Promoting ALT0, ALT1 is boring and ALT3 is a BLP violation, per Narutolovehinata5.
Regards, SshibumXZ (talk · contribs). 07:16, 13 September 2018 (UTC)- Really? ALT0 isn't hooky at all. There are also two grammatical mistakes in the hook (subject confusion; missing verb). Let's try to write something that will grab readers' attention, especially since there's no image. Yoninah (talk) 20:18, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: I have rectified the grammatical mistakes in ALT0 and have also changed its wording a bit, but, as far as an alternate hook goes, I am afraid I am coming up short; not enough creativity in me to do that.
Regards, SshibumXZ (talk · contribs). 01:30, 17 September 2018 (UTC); edited 01:31, 17 September 2018 (UTC). - Pinging Saqib who may suggest an alternate to ALT0.

I don't have anything to add. It can be closed if there's no interest. Saqib (talk) 08:18, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
- I don't know Yoninah but I think that the fact that news articles report on a Wikipedia article about a person's pets is kind of funny if you ask me. I know Wikipedia articles being in the news is not quirky or uncommon these days, but those cases tend to be about stuff like people, sports, politics, and entertainment, not pets. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:33, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, and the press coverage was so enormous that one of Pakistan's respected newspaper The Nation had to acknowledge it. Saqib (talk) 12:45, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
- I would like to suggest an alternate hook, but right now the article is at AFD. Yoninah (talk) 18:53, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: It survived AfD. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:26, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- OK. I don't find the hook about having a Wikipedia article hooky; it's not so unusual for pets to have articles, and this hook seems like an in-universe type of thing to say. Just because a few Pakistani papers found it interesting doesn't make it hooky IMO. Instead, I think you should write something that has a chance of attracting readers, like:
- ALT4: ... that the dogs of the Pakistani prime minister accompany him everywhere, including on his daily helicopter ride to the office and in official meetings at his home? Yoninah (talk) 18:22, 25 September 2018 (UTC)

- @Yoninah and Saqib: Approving ALT4 with modification. Regards, SshibumXZ (talk · contribs). 18:57, 25 September 2018 (UTC); edited 18:58, 25 September 2018 (UTC).
- @SshibumXZ: thanks, but I'd like to give Saqib the courtesy of weighing in on ALT4. Yoninah (talk) 19:06, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- I also think that my original piped link to "the Prime Minister of Pakistan" will convey his stature to a worldwide readership more than "the Pakistani prime minister". Yoninah (talk) 19:09, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: do what you will, but, I would advise that you write 'prime minister of Pakistan', in lieu of 'Prime Minister of Pakistan', vide MOS:JOBTITLES (titles are written in capitals whilst offices are minisculised). Regards, SshibumXZ (talk · contribs). 20:18, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- Right.
- ALT4a:
... that the dogs of the prime minister of Pakistan accompany him everywhere, including on his daily helicopter ride to the office and in official meetings at his home? - Still waiting as a courtesy for Saqib's input. Yoninah (talk) 21:00, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
