Polar Bear (furniture)
- ... that Kanye West sold his Maybach to buy a polar bear? Source: "I sold my Maybach to get the Royère. People told me I was crazy for what I paid for it, but I had to have it" (Step Inside Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West's Boundary-Defying Home - Architectural Digest, February 2020)
- ALT1 ... that a polar bear has sold for $1 million?
- ALT2 ... that Jennifer Aniston owns a polar bear?
- ALT3 ... that Ellen DeGeneres owns a polar bear?

- @No Swan So Fine: Article is new and long enough with no visible plagiarism. Hook is all interesting and sourced though the original is definitely the best for a quirky hook slot. Pending listing of QPQ. Juxlos (talk) 10:20, 9 February 2020 (UTC)
- Note that none of the above hooks, as currently written, would be acceptable for any day other than April Fools' Day. MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 07:23, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- I disagree, They would all be acceptable in the final slot on any day. Philafrenzy (talk) 07:40, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- Changing upper case names to lower case is only allowed on April Fools' Day. It's absolutely not allowed any other day. MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 08:17, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- If only there was some simple solution... Philafrenzy (talk) 11:27, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- Agreed with Philafrenzy that ALT0 would be an acceptable final slot hook on any day. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ♥) 11:48, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you! In the early days of Wikipedia DYK was emblematic of our literary decidedly youthful knee-slapping. No Swan So Fine (talk) 12:10, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- Honestly don't see the issue with a little quirkiness outside AFD. ALT0 great to go. Juxlos (talk) 20:07, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- I don't know how to make this any clearer. You cannot change capitalization on any day other than April Fools' Day. The issue is not about quirkiness. If you want to save one of the above hooks for AFD, please do so. Otherwise, the use of "polar bear" instead of "Polar Bear" is strictly disallowed. You would have to change the hooks as follows to run on any other day:
- ALT0a ... that Kanye West sold his Maybach to buy a Polar Bear?
- ALT1a ... that a Polar Bear has sold for $1 million?
- ALT2a ... that Jennifer Aniston owns a Polar Bear?
- ALT3a ... that Ellen DeGeneres owns a Polar Bear?
- Also note that, per Rule 3b, each hook other than Kanye would require a (duplicate) citation to be added in the article immediately after the DYK fact. MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 21:34, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
