Robert Pitcairn (midshipman)
edit- ... that Robert Pitcairn was only fifteen when he discovered the island (pictured) which is now named after him?
- Reviewed: not a self-nom
- Comment: The article doesn't yet have inline citations but the main source is highly reputable and it's easy to see that it supports the hook

- The article presently has no inline citations. The hook is not verified by an inline citation within the article. Needs more development before it can be a DYK entry on the Main page. Please see the DYK rules and Supplementary guidelines for more information about DYK qualification requirements. NorthAmerica1000 06:46, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
- New enough relative to the date of this nomination, long enough, checks for copyvio reveals no problems. Per improvements to the article, every paragraph now has at least one inline citation. Content of the hook is verified in the article with an inline citation. Image is usable as public domain published by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
