SAE J2954
- ... that a new standard from the SAE, J2954, allows wireless charging for electric vehicles? Source: literally the name of the standard

- ALT1: ... that the SAE J2954 guides the electric vehicle driver over the wireless charging spot by triangulating on the charger's signal?
- ALT1a: ... that a new wireless charging standard for electric vehicles guides the driver over the wireless charging spot by triangulating on the charger's signal?
- New enough, long enough. Well written and cited. Appears to be within policy. The article is highly technical and I appreciate the difficulty in finding a hook that is not boring and interesting to a broad audience. I find this hook a little boring, it just states the purpose of the standard. Maybe something about how the standard supports a targetting system so the driver sees on the display when they are close enough to the charger port? MB 22:57, 22 February 2020 (UTC)
- @MB: sorry, just saw this now. How about ALT1? Maury Markowitz (talk)
- Maury Markowitz, I like the gist of it. I made some changes in ALT1a to make it more appealing to a "broad audience". I don't think that many people would recognize SAE and the standard number really doesn't mean anything to most people. If you are OK with this version I think we will be good to go. - @MB: Works for me! Maury Markowitz (talk) 12:17, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
- QPQ done, no other issues. Good to go with ALT1a. MB 14:29, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
- The QPQ was already used for Template:Did you know nominations/Tymshare RETRIEVE. Please provide another one. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 21:20, 9 March 2020 (UTC)

- Oh, you're right. Sorry, I didn't scroll all the way down. Restoring tick. Yoninah (talk) 21:33, 9 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Maury Markowitz: I am having trouble finding the hook fact about
guides the driver over the wireless charging spot by triangulating on the charger's signal
in the article with a source. Could you point it out to me please? Yoninah (talk) 21:42, 9 March 2020 (UTC)

@Yoninah: Ref 15. Maury Markowitz (talk) 00:17, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Maury Markowitz: thank you. I did see that source and the associated sentence
Multiple sensors in the VA use this signal to triangulate the pad and display targeting information to the driver on an in-car display.
I guess what I'm having trouble with is the hook language that says the system works bytriangulating on the charger's signal
, whereas the article says it works bytriangulate the pad
. Yoninah (talk) 10:06, 10 March 2020 (UTC)- @Yoninah: The pad is the charger. It appears you are concerned about the term "charger"? I'm not really sure. Maury Markowitz (talk) 12:11, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Maury Markowitz: No, I'm just someone who has no knowledge of electric cars or chargers. Thanks for the explanation. Restoring tick per MB's review. Yoninah (talk) 14:22, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
