Overall: Based on nomination date, article is new enough, long enough, cited hook to a language which I don't understand thus will AGF, and within policy. It is rough, such as sources are not formatted, but the nominator has done their QPQ. There are no significant policy issues with this article. That said, I believe a hook about the voice actor's nickname would be more interesting a hook. RightCowLeftCoast (Moo) 07:48, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this, but the hook is not very interesting, even to a fan. The nominator has been blocked for six months. Would someone else like to suggest a better hook? Yoninah (talk) 20:09, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: How about ALT1
... that Shugon (しゅごん) moved to Tokyo, from Okinawa, to pursue his goal of becoming a seiyū, ultimately landing a role in The Idolmaster SideM? Source: "Voice actor artist Sogo Nakamura MV, Jakesha, INDEX for 2nd single "Colorful" released on March 11!" Yahoo! Japan, 2020

- Thanks, RightCowLeftCoast, but I don't think this follows the article. He didn't move to Tokyo for that purpose, but decided afterwards to pursue voice acting. And the word seiyū is not in the article; not sure why you're introducing it here. Meanwhile, I notice that the article is full of bare URLs which need to be properly formatted. Yoninah (talk) 12:24, 12 March 2020 (UTC)
- I looked at the rules for DYK, and it does not state that citations need to be formatted, and WP:VER doesn't state that either. Even if it is messy, it still passes the rules for DYK.
- Let me try one more time: ALT2
... that Shugon (しゅごん), who has had voice acting roles on The Idolmaster SideM and other animes, won the Best New Actor Award at the 13th Seiyu Awards? Source: "Yuko Sanpei, Yūma Uchida Win 13th Annual Seiyū Awards" Anime News Network, 2019

- Thank you, RightCowLeftCoast, ALT2 is a better hook. Not sure we need the foreign spelling for our international audience. Regarding the bare URLs, please see Rule D3. Yoninah (talk) 20:40, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: I will begin working on that. Thanks for pointing out that supplementary rule.--RightCowLeftCoast (Moo) 05:42, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: bare url references have been formatted.--RightCowLeftCoast (Moo) 03:05, 20 March 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for putting in all the work. I've added your name to the DYK credits. I suggest writing the hook this way, as the nickname is not explained well in the article and the Japanese characters are unimportant for our English-speaking audience:
- ALT2a: ... that Shugo Nakamura, who has done voice acting roles on The Idolmaster SideM and other animes, was recognized as one of the Best New Actors at the 2019 Seiyu Awards?
- ALT2a hook refs verified/AGF and cited inline. Rest of review above. ALT2a good to go. Yoninah (talk) 09:01, 20 March 2020 (UTC)
