Song cycles (Killmayer)
edit- ... that the song cycles by Wilhelm Killmayer, written across five decades, set poems by authors from Sappho to Peter Härtling (pictured), with a focus on the late poems by Hölderlin? Source: several
- Reviewed: Oligotoma saundersii
- Comment: This is a memorial to both Killmayer, who died on 20 August, one day before his 90th birthday, and Härtling, who also died recently. We don't have an image of Killmayer, sadly.

- New article, long enough, sourced, no copyvios seen. I checked sources for the first and last song cycles, in addition to those for Sappho, Härtling, and Hölderlin. While the Sappho source doesn't explicitly state that Killmayer set his poems, it's quite clear from the context. Made a minor change to the hook ("written in five decades" to "written across five decades"). The phrase "set poems" was somewhat confusing at first, but seems to be valid. --Usernameunique (talk) 12:12, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
- Forgot to make this non-DYK suggestion earlier. The block quotation would look better if the German and English are separated and clearly distinguishable. One way of doing that is shown at Sutton_Hoo_helmet#Beowulf, although other ways (e.g., one language above the other) would also work. --Usernameunique (talk) 12:38, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
- Sappho was a woman, DYK? - Will separate the two quotations, with different refs. You will have to say something about the image. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:54, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
- Nope, didn't know that. But hey, Sappho got listed as a GA on the 23rd—that can be it's hook! In all seriousness, though, it should definitely get a DYK. Caeciliusinhorto?
- Good point about the image. It's fine to use.
- I bolded Sappho in the hook and added Caeciliusinhorto to the credits. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:18, 17 September 2017 (UTC)
