Tapirus kabomani
edit... that though not described as a distinct species until December 2013, Tapirus kabomani, the smallest known species of tapir, was suspected of being a new species by former US president Teddy Roosevelt (pictured), who collected the oldest known specimen 100 years earlier during the Roosevelt–Rondon Scientific Expedition?
Created/expanded by Aranae (talk). Self nominated at 00:05, 17 December 2013 (UTC).

- (shorter alt2) ... that the smallest species of Tapir announced this month is actually the first new large mammal to be discovered for decades?
- This is "in the news" - can we move this through promptly if its not at ITN? Victuallers (talk) 11:43, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

length fine, pity there is no picture, I've fixed the refs and checked the hook fact. Alt requires approval. I believe QPQ may be required. Victuallers (talk) 12:46, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
- This was "In The News" which I think means we don't show it again Victuallers (talk) 08:36, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
