Tedder certificate
- ... that the Tedder certificate was awarded by the British government to foreign citizens who assisted escaping Allied prisoners of war? "anyone who had assisted downed aircrew during the war were to be reported to MI9 (Escape and Evasion). Article is new enough and long enough. Image seems OK to me. I can't access the sources so I'll AGF on them. Hook sounds interesting, is supported by the quoted source and is also present in the article. QPQ is OK. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 10:31, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
@Dumelow: A query before promoting this. Presumably, not all allied personnel that were helped in this way were prisoners of war, some were evading capture? The hook is of course true, but the certificates were awarded more widely than this. Additionally, do you think "Allied" should be capitalised? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 07:23, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Cwmhiraeth, you are correct: some of those helped would have been evaders rather than escapers but I didn't want to make the hook overly complicated and wasn't sure how widely known the distinction between the two terms is. I am happy for "and evading" to be added or to consider any alternative hook suggestions. Allied should be capitalised, I have corrected it in the hook and article- Dumelow (talk) 07:46, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
- Replacing tick. Prisoners of war is a subset of Tedder certificate recipients, and adding evaders to the hook would be problematic. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:30, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
