- ... that the Temporary Protection Directive was never used until the Ukrainian refugee crisis? Source: "To cope with the large and abrupt number of migrants, the 27 member states have dusted off a 2001 EU directive that had never been used before and is designed to provide immediate assistance and protection to war refugees."[1]
