Thimble jellyfish
edit- ... that larvae of the thimble jellyfish (pictured) are the most common cause of seabather's eruption in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico? Source: "The eruption is caused by two saltwater species of Cnidarians: the thimble Jellyfish (Linuche unguiculata) and a sea anemone (Edwardsiella lineata)." "L. unguiculata has been most commonly reported along the southeast coast of the United States, the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean,"

Overall: Expanded 5*. Just a note that the last medical reference says no known cause, possibly because it is a 1993 article. If interested, this [1] is interesting. Very well written. Fulfills DYK criteria as far as I can see. Seabather's eruption has also been called Caribbean itch and pica-pica. Thank you. Whispyhistory (talk) 08:52, 26 May 2018 (UTC)

- image checked, PD, clear. Is this ok with you Cwmhiraeth? Thanks @Philafrenzy:, looks good. Whispyhistory (talk) 13:56, 26 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, but actually no! It is an image of Linuche aquila, whereas the other 10 of the 11 images in the picture are of Linuche unguiculata, the jellyfish in my article. I will add a caption to the image in the article, and will write an article on Linuche aquila shortly and use your new cropped image in it. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 17:10, 26 May 2018 (UTC)
