Umm al-Amad, Lebanon
- ... that Ernest Renan abandoned his excavations of Umm al-Amad when he found the ruins (pictured) were only two thousand years old? Source: "Vella, 2000, p.31: "Ernest Renan was there in 1861 but abandoned the excavations he undertook when he noted that the site was of Hellenistic date."

- Interesting site, on good sources, offline sources accepted AGF. The image is licensed but awfully pale, - I think the older one would have more chances to be taken. I like the hook! - A few things in the article (not needed for approval, only the qpq is needed): The word "site" appears a bit too often in close succession. The lead should be a summary of things referenced below, and then needs no references. There are way too many images in the gallery, please select the most relevant. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:19, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
- Hi @Gerda Arendt: thank you for your review. I am glad you like the hook - I was pleased with it! I have completed the QPQ, upgraded the image to a better version, and reduced the overusage of the word "site". Onceinawhile (talk) 17:33, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
