Wizard of Legend
edit... that to become the Wizard of Legend, you must complete the Chaos Trials?Source: "The local museum is hosting an exhibition about the Chaos Trials wizards participated in hundreds of years ago... The two levels preceding each of these masters are themed around their element, though they show up in a random order each time you make an attempt. Completing the entire string of dungeons will allow you to claim the title "Wizard of Legend."[review]ALT1:... that the 2016 Kickstarter for Wizard of Legend received $72,681 out of a target of $50,000?Source: "$72,681 pledged of $50,000 goal" [Kickstarter]

- I've pulled this from prep because ALT0 does not meet WP:DYKSG#C6, as the hook involves an in-game plot point, while hooks about works of fiction need to involve the real world in some way. A new hook needs to be proposed here. Pinging nominator Mechimp, reviewer Nizil Shah, and promoter Yoninah. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 08:43, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
- I disagree, and I promoted this specifically after the discussions at WT:DYK. The hook is referring to player activity, which is certainly real-world. Yoninah (talk) 11:11, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
- I guess so (which is why I put the original ATL1 hook in, which is a little dull!) - does this minor change work (ALT2 below)? It should bring it out of in-game fiction and more into player-action. Mechimp (talk) 21:52, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
ALT2:...that to become the titular Wizard of Legend, players must complete the Chaos Trials?
- Honestly that wouldn't solve the main issue that the hook describes an in-universe plot point. While it can be argued that it's a game mechanic (which could be interpreted as being real world) rather than a plot point (and indeed similar situations have been accepted before), the line is very fine and it might be better to have a different hook on the safe side. One possible idea is to expand the development section, and if there's anything noteworthy about the game's development, that could work as a better hook. - Ok, I've made one the sales statistics, ALT3 below. Hopefully that fits the guidelines a bit better! As a note, the mechanic-plot interaction makes WP:DYKSG#C6 (which, to be fair, I had not noticed, which is my bad) hard to work around, without resorting to just the development or reception for hooks. Mechimp (talk) 11:54, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
- ALT3:...that the 2018 roguelike video game Wizard of Legend sold 300,000 copies in its first month of release? Source: "Magical combat dungeon crawler Wizard of Legend has hit 300,000 sales across all platforms in its first month of release."[sales report]
- To be honest, had it not been for DYKSG, ALT0 would have actually made a fine hook. It's just that rules are rules, and while some leniency can be granted on a case-by-case basis, this does not appear to be one of those cases. ALT3 is alright with me, but I would leave the final comment to either Yoninah or Nizil Shah. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:59, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
- ALT4: ... that the 2018 roguelike video game Wizard of Legend accrued nearly 50 percent more than its funding goal in its Kickstarter campaign? Yoninah (talk) 21:04, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
- I'm happy with ALT4. Mechimp (talk) 21:38, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
- I am OK with ALT3 and ALT4 hook. But would weigh on Mechimp's choice. -Nizil (talk) 11:52, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, @Nizil Shah: Please verify the hooks per DYK criteria and give an approval tick. Yoninah (talk) 14:27, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
