XEDK-TV
edit... that in 1976, XEDK-TDT was the only independent commercial television station in Mexico?- ALT1: ... that in 1976, XEHL-TV was the only independent commercial television station in Mexico?
- ALT2: ... that in 1967, XEHL-TV mounted the first color transmissions by a regional Mexican television station?

- I see a potentially showstopping problem here: The TV station in question was known under different call letters (XEHL-TV) at the time when it was Mexico's only independent commercial TV station. It didn't get the call letters XEDK-TV until 1980, when it was sold and was no longer independent. So the proposed hook is incorrect. The article seems superficially OK in other respects and might qualify for DYK with a rewritten hook. — Richwales (no relation to Jimbo) 02:38, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
- Let's try a couple of alts. That was a huge slip-up on my part, I must admit. I'm going to have to use the old calls for most of the good hook options, unfortunately. Raymie (t • c) 04:20, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
- I could live with ALT1. Actually, I think I might prefer ALT2, but I was unable to find substantiation for ALT2 in the cited source (the 1987 Aceves paper). Can you give me the page number in this source where the ALT2 fact is mentioned? — Richwales (no relation to Jimbo) 05:09, 26 July 2015 (UTC)

- OK, thanks. I'll call this one Good to Go with the ALT2 hook. BTW, it might be a good idea to include page numbers for sources #2 and #3. Also, links to PDFs (which you should be able to find online by searching for the titles of the papers; ask me if you need assistance). And a short quote from each source (in the original Spanish, plus an English translation) would be desirable too, in order to make it easy for a reader to verify that a source really does substantiate the associated part of the article. — Richwales (no relation to Jimbo) 06:59, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
