Zdenka Samish

edit
  • ... that Czech-Israeli food technology researcher Zdenka Samish said that every fruit and vegetable can be made into jam? Source: אפשר להכין ריבה מכל פרי או ירק. השאלה היחידה היא כמה סוכר נחוץ, נהגה לומר (Haaretz)

  • Long enough, recent enough, policy compliant, no copyvios found by Earwig's application. The source for the hook is in Hebrew (Haaretz does apparently have an English version, though I can't find the equivalent article there) but Google translate confirms the presence of the quote. It's the fact that it's a quote which makes me want a second opinion on this - nowhere in the DYK rules does it specifically state that the hook can't be a pull quote, but the rules do seem to strongly suggest that the hook should be based on a fact stated in the body of the article. I'd therefore appreciate the advice of one of the DYK regulars on whether this should be passed or not - if the hook can be taken from a pull quote then all's well, but if not then it needs to be incorporated in the article text before this can be promoted. • @Yunshui: Thanks for the review. Per WP:DYK#Eligibility criteria – 3. Cited hook, the hook fact must be mentioned in the article and have an inline citation. Nowhere does it say anything about where the hook fact appears in the article. We have run plenty of hooks like this before. Best, Yoninah (talk) 15:52, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
  • You would know better than me... and doing a bit of digging, I've already found a couple of examples, so there's clearly an established precedent. Fair enough, I'm happy that this is ready for promotion, in that case. Yunshui  15:57, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
