Template:Doctor Who image/doc

Usage

The {{Doctor Who image}} template designed to place one or more categories on an image or file page. The primary category it works with is Category:Doctor Who images.

Syntax

{{Doctor Who image | type | sort | spinoff | spinoff2 | v = }}

Parameters

type

|1=(type) is the type of image. This includes:

• audio – Cover plates or jackets for audio dramas. Sorts to Category:Doctor Who audio covers.
  • If the first spinoff field is set as "Bernice Summerfield" or "Benny" the template will place the file into Category:Bernice Summerfield audio covers instead.
  • If the first spinoff field is set as "TW" or "Torchwood" the template will place the file into Category:Torchwood audio covers instead.
• book – Covers for books or novels. Sorts to Category:Doctor Who book covers.
• character – Character images. This should be limited to images that cover only one character. Sorts to Category:Doctor Who character images.
  • If the character identified by |sort= is "Doctor", the template will add Category:Images of the Doctor (Doctor Who) instead.
  • If the first spinoff field is set as "SJA" or "Sarajane Adventures" the template will place the file into Category:The Sarah Jane Adventures character images instead.
  • If the first spinoff field is set as "TW" or "Torchwood" the template will place the file into Category:Torchwood character images instead.
• comic – Covers and images taken from comic strips and comic books. Sorts to Category:Doctor Who comics images.
• creature / critter / crit – Images of creatures or aliens. This should be limited to images that cover only one type. Sorts to Category:Doctor Who creature images.
  • If the creature identified by |sort= is:
    • Cyberman, the template will add Category:Cybermen images instead.
    • Dalek, the template will add Category:Dalek images instead.
• DVD – Cover plates or packaging for DVDs. Sorts to Category:Doctor Who DVD covers.
• episode / ep – Stills from the televised episodes or webisodes. This includes the television movie. Sorts to Category:Doctor Who episode stills.
  • If the first spinoff field is set as "SJA" or "Sarajane Adventures" the template will place the file into Category:The Sarah Jane Adventures episode stills instead.
  • If the first spinoff field is set as "TW" or "Torchwood" the template will place the file into Category:Torchwood episode stills instead.
• film – Images from pro related to the theatrically released films. Sorts to Category:Doctor Who film images.
• game – Images related to various licensed games. Sorts to Category:Doctor Who game images.
• logo – Logos related to the show. Sorts to Category:Doctor Who logo images.
• magazine / mag – Covers of magazines, not including comic books. Sorts to Category:Doctor Who magazine covers.
• poster – Posters of episodes. Sorts to Category:Doctor Who posters.
• set – Images from the set of Doctor Who. Sorts to Category:Images from the set of Doctor Who.
• soundtrack – Covers of soundtrack albums. Sorts to Category:Doctor Who soundtrack covers.
• theatre – Images related to theatrical plays. Sorts to Category:Doctor Who theatre images.
• video – Covers and video cassette packaging. Sorts to Category:Doctor Who video covers.

sort

|2=(sort) is the title the image should be sorted under. This will default to the pagename.

spinoff / spinoff2

|3=(spinoff) and |4=(spinoff2) can be used to add the image categories for Torchwood, The Sarah Jane Adventures or UNIT images.

v

|v= is the "version" or "variation" and can be added if the images is sorting into the Cybermen or like categories.
