Template:FooIndustry companies (dis)established in YYYY/doc

FooIndustry companies (dis)established in YYYY/doc is used to create categories of the form "FooIndustry companies established in YYYY" or "FooIndustry companies disestablished in YYYY", where:

"FooIndustry" is the industry involved, e.g. "Retail" or "Manufacturing" or "Mass media"
YYYY is a 4-digit year.

The templates creates navigation tables and puts the page into the correct parent categories: "Category:FooIndustry companies by year of (dis)establishment", and other specified by parameters below

Usage

Simple usage

{{FooIndustry companies (dis)established in YYYY}}

No parameters are needed, but optional parameters are available to change the parent categories.

Default parent category

By default, the category is placed in the parent "Category:Companies (dis)established in YYYY".

For example, on Category:Retail companies established in 1959, {{FooIndustry companies (dis)established in YYYY}} will cause the category to be parented in Category:Companies established in 1959.

Specifying parent categories

For subtypes of company, the default parent "Category:Companies (dis)established in YYYY" will be inappropriate.

Alternative parent categories may be specified by using up to four unnamed parameters, of the form {{FooIndustry companies (dis)established in YYYY|parent1|parent2|parent3|parent4}}

On Category:Airlines established in 2010, use {{FooIndustry companies (dis)established in YYYY|Transport companies}}
On Category:Restaurants established in 2007, use {{FooIndustry companies (dis)established in YYYY|Food and drink companies |Hospitality companies}}
On Category:Radio stations established in 1924, use {{FooIndustry companies (dis)established in YYYY|Entertainment companies|Mass media companies}}

Portals

By default, the template generates a link to Portal:Companies, and to a decade portal if it exists.

Up to two additional portals may be specified, by the parameters |portal= and |portal2=
