Template:High chatter editnotice
This talk page is NOT for casual discussion about the subject. It is for discussing improvements to the Wikipedia article on the subject.
- Avoid talking about your personal opinions on, or personal experiences with, the subject of the article.
- Instead, propose technical, logistical, and editorial improvements for the article itself.
- Avoid asking for help with the subject here; our reference desk is likely better for that.
- Instead, seek advice on, or personal assistance with, editing the article's content here.
- Keep your input limited to proposed article improvements.
Reviewing our talk page guidelines, which include what you should do and what you should avoid doing, will ensure your input has the highest chances of being seen and receiving a reply.
Failure to do so may result in your post being removed without notice.
Usage
[edit]Use this as an edit notice for article Talk pages that are extremely prone to high volumes of chatter, gossip, and opinion posting (i.e., to the point that bouts of Talk-page protection become a concern).
It's very instruction-creep-y and redundantly phrased, because it has the goal in mind of being a last-ditch attempt to avoid having to protect talk pages. This is especially important when the article itself is already semi-protected for an extended duration, as the Talk page is the place non-autoconfirmed editors are being redirected when they want to make a change.
