This template is used on approximately 15,000 pages and changes may be widely noticed. Test changes in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user subpage. Consider discussing changes on the talk page before implementing them.

This template is used inside other templates. It takes one unnamed parameter and creates a "banner" to be displayed in an infobox.

Usage

Depending on the value of the parameter, one of the following banners will be displayed. Valid values are Ia, Ib, II, III, IV, V and VI. For more information read the World Commission on Protected Areas article. If no value is used no banner will be displayed. If an invalid value is used an error message will be displayed.

IUCN category Ia (strict nature reserve)

IUCN category Ib (wilderness area)

IUCN category II (national park)

IUCN category III (natural monument or feature)

IUCN category IV (habitat/species management area)

IUCN category V (protected landscape/seascape)

IUCN category VI (protected area with sustainable use of natural resources)
