Parameters

edit

Most parameters are doubled for the information on each competitor, and are indicated by the number "1" or "2". I.e. comp# is actually two parameters, comp1 and comp2, for the names of the first and second competitor, respectively. Required parameters are comp1, comp2, score1, and score2.

  • header – Name of the competition, defaulting to the page title
  • location – Location of the competition
  • dates – Date(s) of the competition
  • comp# – Names of the competitors
  • image# – Competitors' pictures in full image format, i.e. [[File:filename.ext|size|caption]]
  • image - Centered image with both competitors in one picture
  • comp#_link – Article link to a competitor (for disambiguation or other article name difference)
  • flag# – Identifying national flag for each of the competitors
  • flag#_variant – Changes the flag to another variant, mainly used for old competitions where a different flag was used. Variants can be found in the relevant country data template, for example Template:Country data Russia
  • flagicon# – Identifying competition flag for competitors from sanctioned countries unable to use their national flag
  • flagicon#_link – Link to body represented by competition flag
  • flag#_note – notes about the flag a person is competing under, e.g. refugee status, multiple citizenship, or sanctions regime
  • dob# – Competitors' dates of birth
  • age# – Competitors' ages
  • qual# – Competitors' tournament qualification
  • elo# – Competitors' ELO rating
  • rank# – Competitors' FIDE world rankings
  • womens_rank# – Competitors' FIDE women's world rankings. Can't be used at the same time as rank.
  • elo#_ref – Reference for ELO rating and/or rank
  • prev – Previous competition in series display
  • prev_link – Link to previous competition (if different)
  • next – Next competition in series display
  • next_link – Link to next competition (if different)
  • prev2 and next2 - Same as the unnumbered versions when there are multiple predecessors or successors
  • score# – Final scores

The following parameters are for the result and length of the individual games in the match.

  • game# – Up to 20 game results starting with the result ("<", "-", ">", "/") as the first character followed by either "w" or "b" to indicate whether competitor #1 is playing the white or black pieces, followed by the length of the match.
< – indicates competitor #1 is the winner
- – indicates a draw
> – indicates competitor #2 is the winner
/ – indicates a match scheduled, but not required for determining the winner
Example: -b58 is a 58 move draw where competitor #1 played black.
  • type# – game type (e.g. tie-break). Changes label of game from "Game n" to "type n". Games are still automatically numbered
