Usage
editThis template is a wrapper around the citation template {{Cite NBD1849}}
. It places a prescript before the citation template to meet the requirements of the section "copying material from free sources" in the plagiarism guideline. this template must be used in place of {{Cite NBD1849}}
if text is copied from an article in A Naval Biographical Dictionary into a Wikipedia article. If the {{Cite NBD1849}}
template is placed in the References section then it should be placed below the other bullet pointed references as described in the section "Where to place attribution" in the plagiarism guideline.
This template uses two parameters:
noicon=any text
— prevents the display of the leading icon (N.B, any text is usually either "1", "x", "y" or "yes").inline=any text
– alter wording in the prescript from "This article..." to "One or more of the preceding sentences..." the latter is use if the template is used within a ref..tag pair as an inline citation (displayed as a footnote).
