1940 NAL season changes:
- Indianapolis ABCs fold
- Birmingham Black Barons returns to the league and play at Rickwood Field.
- St. Louis Stars split their home games between St. Louis, Missouri and New Orleans, Louisiana and became the St. Louis–New Orleans Stars.
- Toledo Crawfords split time between Toledo, Ohio and Indianapolis, Indiana as the Toledo–Indianapolis Crawfords.
