Purpose

OSTI provides a link to the OSTI.GOV Database maintained by the Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI) of the United States Department of Energy. For instance,

*Wicks, G.G. (1999). "Surface Studies of Nuclear Waste Glasses". ''Glass Researcher''. {{OSTI|10456}}.

gives

Wicks, G.G. (1999). "Surface Studies of Nuclear Waste Glasses". Glass Researcher. OSTI 10456.

In Help:CS1/Help:CS2 templates, the dedicated |osti= parameter can be used instead. For instance,
