This template is used to link to a Wikipedia-specific page (usually in the Wikipedia namespace). It looks like this:

It is often used on disambiguation pages or articles which share a name with a Wikipedia policy. Some pages may use the templates {{For}} or {{See also}} instead.

This template is a self-reference.

Usage

For linking to an article in the Wikipedia namespace

For linking to an article in a specific namespace

For linking to an article in a specific namespace, while displaying a term other than the page name
{{On Wikipedia|Example|WP|Example}}

Parameters

This template accepts the following parameters:

  • |1= – the name of the page being linked (suggested, defaults to the page's name)
  • |2= – the namespace of the page being linked (optional, defaults to Wikipedia)
  • |3= – the term which refers to the link (optional, defaults to the page's name)
