Żoliborz
Żoliborz is a district of Warsaw, located in the northern part of the city on the left bank of the Vistula River. It has an estimated population of 50,000 and is characterized by its abundant green spaces and modernist architecture. The district was developed in the early 20th century, designed as part of the garden city movement, with neighborhoods like Officers' Żoliborz and Clerks’ Żoliborz originally intended for military officers and civil servants. Żoliborz was heavily involved in the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, suffering significant damage during World War II. The modern district features many historic monuments, including the St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and Warsaw Citadel.
